Proctored Practice Tests
Curious to see where your student currently stands? Register your student to take a full-length practice test.
Students do not need to be enrolled in our program to take a practice test. Our mock tests provide students with the opportunity to become familiar with the format of the test, practice pacing strategies, identify content areas/skills to work on, and most importantly, to learn from their mistakes!
We offer proctored practice tests on select Sundays in Carroll Gardens at 104 First Place, Brooklyn NY 11231. We also offer at-home options as well.
Following each practice test, we provide a score report with a detailed breakdown of your student's testing strengths and weaknesses, as well as personalized recommendations for next steps in the preparation process. The score report can be very useful for goal setting, and can help students determine which specific topics and skills to target during their prep. The detailed score reports take 7-10 days to turnaround from the practice test date.
NOTE TO SHSAT PREP STUDENTS:
If your student is planning to prep with us and will be taking proctored practice tests at the Workshop, we kindly ask that you do not give the “official” practice tests included in the 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022 or 2022-2023 DOE Specialized High Schools Student Handbooks to your students at home.

A test booklet and proctoring instructions will be emailed to you. There is a $25 fee per test for students who are not yet registered for a course. Detailed score reports take 7-10 days to return.
Already enrolled in a SHSAT prep course or thinking of registering for a course?
Please note that all of our courses include at least one proctored practice test (our Comprehensive course includes three practice tests). There is no need to register your student for a practice test if he/she is enrolled in a course.
Practice tests are an essential part of the prep process at the Workshop. Each test helps us to track student progress and informs our instruction. Our course instructors build time in the class schedule to review the most commonly missed questions for each of the practice tests. Students will also have the opportunity during class time to ask questions on areas of difficulty.
