2019 Common Core State Test Prep Classes
While the system of high-stakes testing does seem to be slowly shifting, performance on state tests still can have an impact on student choice when it comes to high school, particularly in 7th grade.
Our Workshop tries to defuse the stress built up around it all and instill confidence in our students by thoroughly preparing them without overwhelming them. We deconstruct the tests with the students, helping them to understand exactly what is being asked of them and why. The students practice specific skills, discover shortcuts, and learn how to manage their time on test day. We also manage to have a lot of fun in the process. We promise!
The classes will have a maximum of 15 students. Individual or group sessions for test prep are also available through the tutoring page.
Note: We no longer offer 4th Grade Common Core test prep classes, as District 15 recently eliminated test results as a part of the admissions process in Brooklyn. Under the new system, District 15 middle schools will no longer consider factors such as report card grades, test scores, or auditions for performing arts programs as part of the admissions process.
